Membership
If you simply want to play Go at LGC, that is perfectly acceptable. Unless you are aged under 18 or a full time student there is a session fee but for tournaments and other purposes you can still describe your club as LGC.
However there are three membership schemes designed to enable you to help the long term development of the game by supporting the charity that underpins LGC.
• | Patron |
• | 3 year enfranchisement |
• | 5 year enfranchisement |
(1) | formal acceptance of clause 9(3) of the London Go Centre Constitution; and | ||||||||
(2) | provision of the information required by the Charitable Incorporated Organisations (General) Regulations 2012 for the register of members:

Patron
This category is for anyone who simply wants to actively support Go. Initially you would become a non-voting member of the charity and you would be enfranchised (and entitled to stand as a trustee) after a period which depends on your level of financial commitment:
3 year | £200/yr with enfranchisement on payment of third amount |
5 year | £100/yr with enfranchisement on payment of fifth amount |
While these fees might change over time they would not change during your enfranchisement period.
As you receive no benefits you could also consider making these payments under the gift-aid scheme.
3 year enfranchisement
£200/yr with enfranchisement on payment of third amount
You would be entitled to attend every session with automatic enrolment for all LGC tournaments and events.
While the fee might change over time it would not change during your enfranchisement period.
5 year enfranchisement
£100/yr with enfranchisement on payment of fifth amount
You would be entitled to attend 50 sessions (Wednesday or Saturday) with automatic enrolment for all LGC tournaments except the London Open.
While the fee might change over time it would not change during your enfranchisement period.
