This is the 3rd annual tournament in memory of T Mark Hall who left a legacy to establish a London Go Centre. It is a class C for EGF rating.

Fittingly it is the first tournament to be held at the new venue and will be hosted in the T Mark Hall room.  The new venue is spacious and equipped with modern ventilation systems.

In the evening there will be a small party to celebrate the opening of the venue.

The winner of the tournament will be have their name engraved on the T Mark Hall Memorial Trophy.

Surcharge £5 if you are not a member of your national Go Association. This non-member surcharge is waived if this is your first Go tournament within Europe.


In addition to the trophy, prizes will be awarded as follows:

10 kyu or weaker on registration £10


Formal registration and payment takes place when the tournament starts. However if you pre-register you will pay the entry fee appropriate to the date you applied.

The tournament is conducted according LGC Tournament Rules with these parameters:

Rapid Play 40 minutes sudden death
Komi 7½ points
Handicap McMahon, difference – 1 (where required)


Your initial McMahon score (MMS) will be set from your GoR as published on the date of the tournament. If you do not have a GoR you might be required to provide other evidence of your strength. Your initial MMS determines who you will play in the first round. If you do not think your GoR is accurate (for example, you are a quickly improving kyu player who hasn’t played in any recent tournaments) please email us with your preferred strength.
