The Bar Low is specifically for kyu players and the MacMahon bar is set no higher than 3 kyu (so far it has always been 5 kyu or lower).
Thanks to a sponsor who prefers to remain anonymous:
- the event is free of charge for anyone aged under 18

Thanks to Guo Juan the first three places in the Bar Low will each receive a €50 voucher for her Internet Go School. Books will also be awarded as prizes.
Formal entry and payment begins one hour before the start of the first game.

|Surcharge||£5 (all ages) if you do not pre-register or do so after 24th April
£10 if you are not a member of your national Go Association. This non-member surcharge is waived if this is your first Go tournament within Europe.

If you’re uncertain whether your entry has been accepted, just check our list of Pre-registered Players.
If you do not wish your name and grade to appear in the online list of players you must indicate this when you register.
If subsequently you wish your name to be removed from the online list then email us.
Your initial McMahon score (MMS) will be set from your GoR as published on the date of the tournament. If you do not have a GoR you might be required to provide other evidence of your strength. Your initial MMS determines who you will play in the first round. If you do not think your GoR is accurate (for example, you are a quickly improving kyu player who hasn’t played in any recent tournaments) please email us with your preferred strength.
Tournaments at the London Go Centre are conducted according to British Go Association Rules, broadly as follows:

|Canadian Overtime||20 moves in 5 minutes sudden death|
|Handicap||McMahon, difference – 1 (where required)|
